I’ve been to a lot of town festivals, but I have to say that Winchester knows how to do it right.
The Apple Blossom Festival is a two week ordeal held in the city of historic Winchester, VA. The festival is packed full of tons of activities and gatherings, including ladies and stag luncheons, parades, dances, dinners and lots more. For a list of specific activites, you can visit http://thebloom.com/events/.
The midway is full of loads of delicious carnvial type food and carnival games. It’s pretty cool. Here you’ll find everything from turkey legs, funnel cakes, candy apples, and loads more. This is near where you’ll find the parades happening.
If you lodge at the George Washington, you’ll be right in the middle of it and it’ s an awesome experience. The George Washington is fantastic and that staff is wonderful. You can see pics and get more info from this hotel here.
The LL Bean Bootmobile or Boot Car. We got awesome free LL Bean decals. There were other vendors with all kinds of samples down the midway.
At the end of town you’ll find a full blown carnival with plenty of rides for everyone and the park also features an arts and crafts gathering where you’ll find tons of artisans both local and otherwise.
Even outside of the festival itself, the beauty of historic downtown Winchester has classic beauty, providing lots of opportunities for gorgeous photo ops and relaxing surroundings year round. Walking down the cobblestone Old Town Winchester center, you’ll find tons of cute little shops. It’s right near by midway.
Two different historic homes in Old Town Winchester nestled among the shops.
There are tons of great places to visit and explore, including the home of Patsy Cline, Stonewall Jackson’s Headquarters, Abram’s Delight, the Discovery Museum, and lots more.
