Vintage Cookies: Pillsbury Gingerbread Sleigh and Cookies Flyer from the 1970s

I found this in my grandmother’s recipe box and thought it was so lovely and vintage that I had to share it.

I have no idea how old this is, but I’m pretty sure it dates back prior to when Pillsbury started making mixes, as all of these recipes are from scratch.

  1. Do you what magazine this came out of? Or the exact date/issue showing in the small print at the bottom of the Pillsbury recipe flyers?

They are definitely plugging their Pillsbury products in the recipes, it appears.

I also have one of the same (but different issue/year) with “Swedish Almond Cookies” and “Italian Nut Balls” and “French Buttercream Cookies” and “Russian Tea Cakes”, etc.

    Thanks

    1. I don’t, I’m sorry. It was tucked into an old cookbook that my Mom had saved and it gave me such a warm feeling. I’ll see if I can dig it out and check for more information in the corner that you mentioned. I think you’re right, they definitely seemed to plug their products in those recipes! Being “helpful to housewives” I think is how they would word it, lol. I looked everywhere and couldn’t find it. I do have some things in storage, so I’ll check next time I go up there.
