Charming Fairy Houses at Epcot’s International Flower and Garden Festival

One of my favorite things about Epcot is the featured artists that are brought in during events. A few days ago at the International Flower and Garden Festival, I discovered a kiosk of precious little fairy houses.

Front and Side View of Fairy Teapot House. How perfect – taking tea in a teapot! Notice the tiny letter in the little mailbox?

The houses are full of details and loving little touches. What a wonderful and unique piece of art to bring to your home! Yet, even better, these houses are all completely unique.

The first one to catch my eye was this upcycled antique candelabra, which brought me to the booth. How cool is this?

Each house is made by hand and is one-of-a-kind. They are made from mostly natural and recycled materials in genius ways. Some have working mechanisms and some even light up! Here is a pair made from toys some will remember from their childhood. These are two of my favorites. Such precious memories, made into art that can be displayed. I’m in love with this carousel!

Here they are in action!

One gorgeous piece made from an antique coffee press has a tiny working chandelier. It’s a fairy bedroom.

The artists that make these houses use a strong adhesive, so they are pretty durable. New ones are appearing regularly. Several were already gone by the time I returned 2 days later.

There are a wide variety of styles, depending on available materials. The toys and teapots stole my heart, but my sister loves the beach themes.

The details are amazing in the pieces. You’ll find lamps and tiny vanities made of seashells, cups made of acorn caps, tiny cards, miniature beds and so much more. Some feature multiple rooms. This one has “rooms” made out of a collection of silver creamers atop a log balanced inside a brass pot.

What adds the most charm to these houses is the whimsy with which they are created. Because they are made of both found and natural materials, it’s easy to imagine how fairies would collect the tiny objects inside and seem to embody how a fairy would build their house – which makes them extremely realistic. You can look into the tiny niches and abodes and completely feel that you have stumbled upon a real fairy house. They draw you in with their charm and allow your imagination to take flight.

Many feature tiny little surprises, like this antique silver coffee pot, when you lift the lid …. a fairy card game!

Houses come in a variety of styles as well, including houses on stakes, hanging houses, and shelf houses.

Houses start at $35 and can cost over $350, depending on size, material, and detail.

The kiosk is located near Germany in Epcot on the China side.

So how can you get one of these houses? The kiosk will be inside of Epcot until the end of May 2019. But, if you aren’t able to get to Epcot before then, you can contact these talented ladies through facebook AND see some of their newest creations there. They do take custom orders and you can also inquire within a certain price range and they’ll send a list of houses that fit into your budget.
